Following the success of last year’s Commonwealth Games Business Portal launch events in Glasgow and Edinburgh, BusinessClub Scotland will officially launch the Commonwealth Business Portal in Aberdeen on Friday 19 March at the Norwood Hall Hotel and in Inverness on 24th March at the MacDonald Aviemore Highland Resort.

We will be joined by representatives from Glasgow 2014 Ltd at both events – chief executive John Scott in Aberdeen and procurement manager David Brown in Inverness - who will discuss the economic opportunities the Games will bring to Scotland.

The launch of the Glasgow XXth Commonwealth Games Business Portal brings together contractors and suppliers and provides businesses of all sizes with the opportunity to find out about and compete for Games related contracts.

The Business Portal is a free service for both buyers and suppliers of goods, services and infrastructure related to the Games.

Scottish Opera networking evening in association with Accenture Scotland

As sponsor and consulting partner to Scottish Opera, Accenture Scotland have kindly donated a limited number of their sponsor’s ticket allocation to BusinessClub Scotland for Scottish Opera’s spring performances. The purpose of this initiative is to facilitate high-level and targeted networking opportunities for BusinessClub Scotland members at the opera.

These tickets have been made available for business purposes only. Guests' partners are welcome to attend, but tickets are not available for work colleagues (unless their attendance at the networking event is crucial), friends or family.

There will be networking opportunities before the performance and during the interval in Scottish Opera’s private hospitality area. Each attendee will receive complimentary programmes and pre-performance and interval drinks.

New contract opportunities for Security and Safety Services for London 2012 now available

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has announced contract requirements for the provision of Security & Safety Services.

The closing date for registering interest in these contract opportunities is 5pm on Tuesday 16 February 2010. Organisations that can demonstrate experience in London 2012 will be much better placed and equipped to win Glasgow 2014 contracts, but in order to be eligible to tender for any of these opportunities businesses must register for free with CompeteFor.
